While the experience has been my own, I feel that you should decide for yourself how much (if any) of the content has any usefulness to your own Reiki work. In my articles on "My Symbols Experience" and "The Origin of Threshold Reiki"
I talk about my experiences with very cold flowing energy, and my own
Reiki energy at times flowing cool or very cold. The real
surprise for me was when I had attuned experienced Reiki practitioners
and their Reiki would also begin to exhibit this feature at
times. I remember
commenting on this
on an internet Reiki list. I was a bit relieved
to read at least 2 replies in which
other Reiki
Masters had had similar
experiences with their Reiki energies. This seemed to be a
new expression of reiki energy, although it's quite possible others had
this experience before this, but simply did not write about it or
comment publicly on it. After all, if the resulting energies
still proved beneficial to a practitioner's healing subjects, then who
could complain? However, I was still quite curious as to what
this might mean about my own Reiki energy.
Then one day I was re-reading parts of a book on Qigong that I have. It's called "Shaolin Nei Jin Qi Gong: Ancient Healing in the Modern World" by Peter Fenton. Mr. Fenton’s teacher was Master Peng, a Chinese Qi Gong healer living in North Vancouver, BC whom I’ve met and received a treatment from in 1999 (a gift from my friend John Dunham.) He is a very interesting healer and I found his healing energies to be very strong. In talking with him via his wife who interpretted, I asked whether he knew of Reiki. He hadn't heard of it and so I offered him a Reiki attunement. He accepted, and I used a sort of opened ended reiju ceremony to achieve the attunement. However, I found that his capacity to hold energy was far greater at the time than mine. most likely because by that time he had already been working as a healer for 35 years. Rather than feeling the energy kind of reach a peak that told me to stop the reiju, I found the Reiki just continued to flow, with myself feeling more and more buzzed and ungrounded. The experience was very interesting to me because his earlier treatment had left me the most grounded I could remember up till that time. As I attuned him I felt as if I was transferring energies from one warehouse to another, endlessly. I finally had to stop and said it was nice. While reviewing Mr. Fenton's book I came to a passage that I thought might explain the changes I was seeing in my Reiki. The following passages are the related sections:
As I suggest in my "Reiki Analogies"
article, Reiki energy seems to be drawn to the recipient in ways much
like an electrical appliance draws electricity from a wall
outlet. So it may be that it also seems to know when the
frequency of the energy should be one that is more suited to deeper
energy blocks and thus our sense of it is that it feels cool or cold as
it flows.
Perhaps you too may have discoveed this phenomenon and have wondered about it. Hopefully you have simply trusted in the workings of your energy and allowed it to flow to your healing subject . |
